Boxers Von Bachbett
Sabiye is one of two males George held back from our "S" litter, the other being Sam, with the intention of choosing one of the two to be his next competition dog. The decision to sell Sabiye has been difficult, but at this point in their training, George would like to concentrate his efforts on one dog. Both are very good dogs, and the training that has been done with them is for a competitive sport dog.
Here's how we would assess Sabiye's character, drives, and training. Sabiye has the all the elements of a very good working dog.

Prey drive - Good, his drive punches through most everything. He isn't the obsessive type, so he is much easier to deal with.

Nerves - Strong against the man, excellent during pressure phases of protection work.

Pack drive - Very good compared to other Boxers.

Hardness - Moderate, any minor sensitivity shown will be forgotten by the next training session.

Fighting Drive - Good, and like many Boxers with strong nerves and less than extreme prey drive, a little civil work and some physical pressure promote this higher form of prey drive.

Food Drive - Good

Biting behavior -Always wants to grip full. He bites hard and fast when worked with some physical pressure. He is the type of Boxer that needs this to continue the bite building process. The more you put on him, the stronger the grip, there is little concern about nervousness in the grip; we've never seen it with this type of dog.

Training to date:
Tracking - Tracks for articles, with food reward given by handler on the track. He is in correct position for article indication or will self correct. Very motivated to search the footsteps in anticipation of an article and reward. This work is very good to excellent in good conditions, and challenging in difficult conditions. He rarely loses drive to search regardless of difficulty..

Obedience - Heeling/Attention are very good, very intense and correct. He has not been worked off leash. Sit and Down in Motion are good. The recall elements are good. Retrieving is fast, and jumping is good, but only been done with a toy, and he brings it back for the fight. Only work done with a dumbbell is on a correct and calm hold.

Protection - Good, he bites, barks and outs. He's very clear in the head. No secondary (obedience) work has been done here. He's fast and powerful. Many other people got to see him and his brother work while visiting at the Malinios schutzhund nationals in Florida, and they were impressed. Sabiye is one of the fastest we have seen!

He is also trained as a detection dog using the Hare Method, and he is excellent in this work.

Weight - between 68 and 72 lbs.
Height- 23 1/2" at the whithers.
When he is full grown, he will be extremly muscular, in the top 10% for the breed.

Sabiye is an excellent protection dog, but at the same time, he is stable and social with people.

He has a big personality, and enjoys displaying his comic side.
